Nebraska softball ranks No. 2 in latest Softball America poll

Nebraska softball came in at No. 2 in Softball America’s Top 25 rankings on Monday. The Oklahoma Sooners were the only team that ranked ahead of them.

Nebraska softball is coming off another successful weekend on the diamond. They were able to sweep Penn State and claimed the program’s first outright Big Ten title since the 2016 season. These wins were buoyed by Jordy Frahm and Alexis Jensen.

Frahm had another strong weekend that included a 4-for-4 day in the series finale, as well as the game-tying RBI single that was part of a nine-run comeback rally in Saturday’s game. Jensen was able to pick up her 21st win of the season, as she pitched in relief on Sunday.

The Big Ten tournament is next, with the program scheduled to play its first game on Thursday. They will face the winner of the first-round matchup between No. 8 Ohio State and No. 9 Michigan.
