Newcastle United keeping an eye on Anis Hadj Moussa

The Newcastle United recruitment team are stepped up their search for attacking reinforcements, and Feyenoord winger Anis Hadj Moussa has emerged as a target. Eddie Howe’s side are seeking to add elite 1v1 dribbling and unpredictability at the top end of the pitch, and Hadj Moussa fits the exact high-octane profile being drawn up at St James’ Park. Operating primarily as an inside forward, Hadj Moussa has enjoyed a sensational 2025-26 campaign with Feyenoord, registering 14 goals and seven assists in 40 games across all competitions. He excels at cutting inside onto his preferred left foot, using a low centre of gravity and high-intensity acceleration to weave out of tight spaces. While the now-departed Anthony Gordon was Newcastle’s go-to man on the left, the opposite flank has often lacked consistent output, with Anthony Elanga enduring an underwhelming debut campaign on Tyneside.

However, securing Hadj Moussa from Feyenoord will not be straightforward. Feyenoord have tied the Algerian international down to a long-term contract running until 2030, meaning the Dutch giants hold all the leverage. Reports indicate that the Eredivisie club has slapped a minimum €30 million valuation on their prized asset to even open formal negotiations, and his agent, Mohamed Dahmane, is already in contact with several European clubs. As a result, Newcastle will need to move decisively to secure one of European football’s most entertaining wide prospects. Meanwhile, the Magpies are also in the race to sign Nigerian starlet Zadok Yohanna, who is attracting interest from Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea.
