Alabama baseball‘s next opponent in the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional won’t be revealed until championship day.
The No 7. overall seed Crimson Tide advanced to the region title game with a 7-5 win over 3-seed USC Upstate. Yet, the Spartans are still alive in the postseason, too, thanks to the double-elimination format.
Sunday, May 31 will feature another double-header in Sewell-Thomas Stadium, but whoever wins the first game of the day will have to play again later that evening against an Alabama (39-19) squad that has a ship on the line.
USC Upstate will face 2-seed Oklahoma State at 2 p.m. CT. The Cowboys fell 8-5 to the Spartans in the region opener, which marked Upstate’s first ever NCAA Tournament win.
Oklahoma State stayed in with an 8-7 victory over 4-seed Alabama State that stretched 11 innings.
A win on Sunday in The Joe would mark Alabama’s first region championship since 2023 and lock in a Tuscaloosa Super Regional.
