Former New England Patriots legendary head coach Bill Belichick recently broke his silence about his shocking omission from first-ballot enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Belichick will be eligible again in 2027 and he’ll be joined by former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski.
NFL senior writer Conor Orr predicted on Tuesday that the voters will not only select “Gronk” on the first ballot but rectify their perceived mistake and enshrine Belichick as well.
“Gronkowski, one of the greatest tight ends ever, will get the nod alongside his coach, Bill Belichick, as the football writers make up for a catastrophic mistake last year that has their voting power and responsibility hanging by a thread,” Orr said.
Gronkowski earned three of his Super Bowl rings, all five of his Pro Bowl nods and four First Team All-Pro honors during his nine seasons playing with New England under Belichick.
Gronk’s partner in crime, iconic quarterback Tom Brady, is slated to be a first-time candidate in 2028.
