The Tennessee Titans’ new stadium will have a Super Bowl scheduled before it hosts an NFL game.
NFL Network reporters Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo shared the news Monday morning. They wrote that NFL owners will approve Nashville’s 2030 Super Bowl bid at the spring meetings Tuesday, May 19, in Orlando.

“This would be the first time the Music City would host the Super Bowl with the event showcasing the Titans’ new stadium, which is expected to open in 2027,” ESPN, which owns NFL Network, reported.
The new Nissan Stadium is an enclosed, 60,000-seat venue going up on the east bank of the Cumberland River, just east of the Titans’ current home. The new stadium costs $2.1 billion and opens in February 2027.
Nashville, a hot tourist destination, hosted the 2019 NFL Draft, proving its capability to handling big NFL events.
Meanwhile, SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, will host the Super Bowl LXI on February 14, 2027. In addition, the 2028 and 2029 Super Bowls belong to Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta and Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, respectively, per NFL.com.
Other business at league meetings
According to Sports Illustrated NFL reporter Albert Breer, the owners will tackle other topics as well.
Breer wrote the league is likely to increase the number of international games from eight to 10 for 2027. That number doesn’t include the Jacksonville Jaguars’ deal to play one home game per season at Wembley Stadium in London.
“So where will they go to next? … I’d bet that places like Japan, Italy and the Middle East, with Saudi Arabia having shown interest, aren’t far off,” Breer wrote.
Breer also reported NFL owners will ratify Minneapolis as the host of the 2028 NFL Draft. Washington, D.C., will host the 2027 NFL Draft.
