No. 1 2027 WR fires back after prediction for Indiana, Curt Cignetti

Fresh off their first-ever national championship, the Indiana Hoosiers could also be set to land their highest-ranked high school recruit in program history.

The Hoosiers are trending for in-state five-star wide receiver Monshun Sales from Lawrence North in Indianapolis, and they’ve picked up a prediction from On3’s Steve Wiltfong to land him. However, it’s far from a done deal for the top-ranked 2027 receiver and No. 7 overall recruit, which Sales made abundantly clear on Sunday.

In an NSFW post on his Instagram story, Sales refuted the prediction’s validity and implied that his recruitment remains open.

“**** a prediction, **** the critics,” Sales wrote. “Ion talk to nobody if it ain’t about (Lawrence North), don’t hml (hit my line), only thing important.”

Sales followed up with a post on Twitter reiterating that he doesn’t care about predictions.

“i keep my head down and work ion talk to nobody i don’t care about the criticism the predictions the cameras etc i only care about GOD & Lawrence North in this process if it isn’t about those things don’t hml,” Sales said.

Still, Indiana remains in a good position for Sales. It has hosted him for five unofficial visits in addition to an official visit last month. However, the Hoosiers will have to fend off some high-level competition for Sales, who also has official visits scheduled for Texas, Alabama, Miami and Ohio State.

Cignetti and IU will hope they can still come away with the top prospect on his board, but his posts made it clear that his recruitment will continue to play out through his official visit schedule.
