NY Mets announce lineup vs Arizona Diamondbacks for today’s game

The Mets offense switched back to stagnant on Saturday night.

One night after the Mets broke through with three hits in the 10th inning of a 3-1 win over the Diamondbacks, the Mets could only muster three total hits and dropped a 2-1 result on Saturday.

Now the Mets and Diamondbacks will play the rubber game in their three-game series at 4:10 p.m. on Sunday at Chase Field.

The Mets enter the final game of their nine-game road trip with a 5-3 record and a chance to win three straight series. After Sunday’s contest, the Mets return home for a six-game homestand beginning on Tuesday against the Tigers.

The Mets will turn to an opener in Huascar Brazoban for Sunday’s series finale.

Brazoban is likely to open ahead of David Peterson, who had an effective bulk relief appearance against the Rockies earlier in the week. Peterson allowed two earned runs in four innings with six strikeouts.

Eduardo Rodriguez will take the ball for the Diamondbacks for his eighth start. He enters with a 3-0 record and 2.50 ERA. He tossed seven scoreless innings with seven strikeouts last time out. One of Rodriguez’s three wins came against the Mets back on April 9 when he allowed one earned run in six innings.
