Dollar for dollar, Michael Olise has been one of Bayern Munich’s best signings of all time. The Frenchman joined Der Rekordmeister in 2024 from a mid-table Crystal Palace side in a transfer worth around €60m; just two years later, Olise has been named the Bundesliga player of the season.
The 24-year-old winger clocked 32 league appearances for Bayern, scoring 15 goals and assisting 19 more. Olise becomes the first player, along with Luis Díaz, to finish the season with double digits in goals and assists since Jamal Musiala scored 12 and assisted 10 in the 2022/23 Bundesliga season.
Olise also becomes the second Bayern player in a row to earn the award after Harry Kane was dubbed the honor in the 2024/25 Bundesliga season.
The Frenchman, nonchalantly, accepted the award following Bayern’s 5-1 demolition of FC Köln at the Allianz Arena.
Olise has been a revelation for Bayern this season, producing some of the most electric and exciting football down Bayern’s right flank since the glory days of Arjen Robben.
Considering his impact and consistency, Michael Olise is a deserved winner of the Bundesliga’s most coveted individual award.
