Aston Villa forward Ollie Watkins will miss England’s upcoming World Cup qualifier against Latvia due to injury, the FA confirmed. The 29-year-old sustained a knock during England’s 3-0 friendly victory over Wales on Thursday.
Watkins, who has scored six goals in 20 international appearances, was forced to withdraw from the squad to recover fully. England currently top Group K with a perfect record of 15 points from five matches, and the team will travel to Latvia on Tuesday aiming to maintain their winning streak.
