Jordan Love did not reveal much about the Green Bay Packers’ internal discussions surrounding Josh Jacobs, however, one thing was clear: the news caught him completely off guard.
As the Packers continued OTA on June 2, reporters naturally turned their attention to Jacobs’ ongoing legal situation, while the Packers quarterback avoided diving into team conversations, he admitted his first reaction was one of genuine surprise after learning about the running back’s arrest.
Jordan Love Admits Josh Jacobs News Caught Him By Surprise
Speaking to reporters on June 2, Love was asked whether uncertainty surrounding Jacobs’ availability had crossed his mind since the arrest became public. The Packers QB did acknowledge there were questions, however, stressed the team is allowing the legal process to unfold before drawing conclusions.
“There’s always questions. I was shocked when I saw it.”

The Packers are in a spot because of what happened with Jacobs. He was taken to the Brown County Jail on May 26 after the police looked into a disturbance. Far no official charges have been made and the prosecutors are still looking at the evidence before they make a decision. Love’s comment was the time he talked about it in public. It showed how careful the Packers have to be. Jacobs is still with the team. Has been to OTAs but there is still a lot of uncertainty about what will happen to him. This is a deal because Jacobs is one of the most important players on the team and it is happening right before the 2026 season.
Jacobs had a good year and is a big part of the Packers’ offense. That is why everyone is talking about it even though it happened during the offseason. For now the Packers are just focusing on football. Waiting to see what happens. The head coach, Matt LaFleur, said something earlier in the day. He said the team is just going to wait and see what happens of talking about it in public.
Love did not say much. What he did say showed how surprised everyone in the locker room was. He did not want to talk about what he and the other players said to Jacobs. What he did say gave us an idea of how the players felt when they first heard about it. The Packers will still have to answer questions about Jacobs until the prosecutors make a decision. Based on what Love said, the Packers are just going to keep doing what they are doing. They will keep getting ready, for the season. They will not talk about what might happen. They will just. See what the facts are.
