‘Panga na lo’: Rajasthan Royals’ message to Punjab Kings after entering IPL 2026 playoffs

NEW DELHI: A brilliant all-round performance from Jofra Archer helped Rajasthan Royals defeat Mumbai Indians by 30 runs in a must-win IPL 2026 clash at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday and seal a place in the playoffs. Soon after the victory, Rajasthan Royals grabbed attention on social media with a cryptic reply aimed at Punjab Kings.

“Panga na lo,” the Rajasthan Royals handle posted while replying to an old Punjab Kings tweet that had read: “Sorry bhai, aaj nahi!”

The exchange quickly went viral among fans after RR sealed the fourth and final playoff spot of IPL 2026.

Rajasthan Royals joined Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans in the knockout stage of the tournament.

RR finished the league phase with 16 points from seven wins in 14 matches and secured fourth place in the standings. They will now face Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Eliminator in New Chandigarh on Wednesday.

Punjab Kings had moved to 15 points after defeating Lucknow Super Giants on Saturday, leaving Rajasthan Royals with a straightforward equation against Mumbai Indians — win and qualify.

Under pressure, RR delivered a clinical performance to keep their title hopes alive.

Archer starred in Rajasthan Royals’ crucial victory with both bat and ball. The England pacer smashed 32 runs off just 15 deliveries to help RR post 205 for eight after being under pressure in the middle overs.

He then produced a match-winning spell with the ball, returning impressive figures of 3 for 17 to derail Mumbai Indians’ chase.

Archer’s outstanding all-round effort played a massive role in Rajasthan Royals extending their stay in the tournament.
