Penn State awaits decision from three-star QB

After losing out on one Will at the quarterback position, Penn State will be hoping another Will will eventually sign with them. However, the program that stands in their way is one that has a familiar face to Penn State fans. For Penn State, while the Class of 2027 has a little bit of everything, it is lacking a premier quarterback prospect.

While Will Wood is unlike Will Mencl, the five star QB Penn State State was chasing before he ultimately committed to Oregon, he is still a three star recruit that the Penn State staff have really honed in on over the past couple of months under Matt Campbell. The only problem? Boston College and Bill O’Brien stand in Penn State’s way. Bill O’Brien is fondly remembered in Happy Valley for bringing Penn State back to relevancy, but is now rivaling Penn State for a highly important recruit.

Wood is a Massachusetts native, so Penn State could be behind the eight ball in that regard. Still, Wood did mention that between the two schools, it is a “50-50” decision. Wood’s decision will not come till May however, and he many not even have fully made his mind up by then. He has several visits scheduled for the summer, with Boston College included, but the Nittany Lions are not one of them.

The Nittany Lions truly believe that they have done their best and will leave it up to chance. However, they are hoping that this time around, where there’s a Will, there is a way.
