Porto, Ligue 1 clubs on alert as OGC Nice chief reveals future plans for Terem Moffi

Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi is set to join a new club in the summer, as he has been informed that there is no way back at OGC Nice, Afrik-foot reports.

Moffi is currently at Portugal Liga club Porto. He joined them in a half-season loan transfer from Nice in January. Before his move, his relationship with the French Ligue 1 club had deteriorated badly.

Moffi and some teammates were attacked by fans of the club in late November after a poor run of results. That left them with injuries and made the club put them on sick leave.

But he had already made up his mind to leave immediately after that incident, hence the January move to Porto.

So far at Porto, the 26-year-old marksman has failed to pin down a startin shirt due to the high competition in Porto’s striker’s department. But he has turned up with some impressive performances.

Meanwhile, there has been the big question of his future, as his loan deal at Porto will expire at the end of the campaign, and he will become an OGC Nice player once again.

In a new development, OGC Nice co-president Maurice Cohen was asked about the possibility of Moffi returning to the club at the end of the season, and he confirmed that there is no possibility of Moffi returning to the club even after his loan expires at the end of the campaign.

“They (Moffi and Boga) won’t return to Nice, whether their buy options are triggered or not,” Cohen said, per GFFN.

Which Club Will Terem Moffi Join?

The statement by the co-president of OGC Nice means that there is definitely no way back for Terem Moffi at the club. So he will definitely have to choose a new team in the summer.

<figure class=”wp-block-image size-full”><img decoding=”async” width=”6472″ height=”4317″ src=”https://www.afrik-foot.com/en-ng/thumbor/lLQsI3OLZdAzJndUGvXHsEEt03o=/6472×4317/smart/filters:format(webp)/https%3A%2F%2Fmedia.afrik-foot.com%2Fen-ng%2F2026%2F03%2Fimago850743142-1.jpg” alt=”Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi” class=”wp-image-908957″/>
Super Eagles striker Terem Moffi.
Porto have an optional buy-in clause for the Super Eagles star. But it seems unlikely that the option will be triggered because he has not proven beyond doubt that he is better than what they have at the club.

In January, there were links to some clubs in Ligue 1, but nothing concrete emerged. However, something will definitely come up, given his antecedents in the league.

Moffi is currently valued at around €10 million on transfermarkt, which is an affordable fee for a player of his quality. As such, he should not be short of offers in the summer.
