The draw for the upcoming Preakness Stakes was announced on Monday for the second leg of thoroughbred racing’s Triple Crown.
As previously announced, the field does not include Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo. Golden Tempo’s trainer Cherie DeVaux cited Golden Tempo’s health last week in announcing the decision to bypass the Preakness Stakes, which will take place on Saturday, two weeks after the running of the Kentucky Derby.
“Golden gave us the race of a lifetime in the Kentucky Derby, and we believe the best decision for him moving forward is to give him a little more time following such a tremendous effort,” DeVaux wrote. “His health, happiness and long-term future will always remain our top priority.”
DeVaux does plan to run Golden Tempo at the Belmont Stakes, the third leg of the Triple Crown. The Belmont is schedule to take place on June 6, giving Golden Tempo roughly a month off between races.
As for the 14 horses that will run at what’s considered a wide-open Preakness Stakes, here’s the starting order for Saturday’s race that scheduled to post at 7:01 p.m. ET:

2. Ocelli: Jockey Tyler Gaffalione
3. Crupper: Jockey Junior Alvarado
4. Robusta: Jockey Rafael Bejarano
5. Talkin: Jockey Irad Ortiz Jr.
6. Chip Honcho: Jockey Jose Ortiz
7. The Hell We Did: Jockey Luis Saez
8. Bull By The Horns: Jockey Micah Husbands
9. Iron Honor: Jockey Flavien Prat
10. Napoleon Solo: Jockey Paco Lopez
11. Corona de Oro: Jockey John Velazquez
12. Incredibolt: Jockey Jaime Torres
13. Great White: Jockey Alex Achard
14.Pretty Boy Miah: Jockey Ricardo Santana Jr.
