Preview: Juventus Women vs Roma | Women’s Italian Cup final

The Juventus Women’s First Team will be looking to end their 2025/26 season on a high on Sunday afternoon and win their third piece of silverware as they take on Roma in the final of the Women’s Italian Cup.

Sunday sees the Bianconere face off against the Giallorosse in a final for the third time this season, having already beaten them 3-2 in the Serie A Women’s Cup final in September, and 2-1 in the Women’s Super Cup final in January.

Let’s get up to speed ahead of Sunday’s big game with the pre-match stats.

INTERESTING FACTS

  • Juventus and Roma have met 31 times across all competitions, and the Bianconere have come out on top in 21 of those. This Sunday’s meeting will be the eighth final contested by the two, with the Bianconere winning seven of those.
  • The Bianconere have won four Women’s Italian Cups in their history (2018/19, 2021/22, 2022/23, and 2024/25), and could join Torres as just the second side to have won five titles this millennium.
  • Since 2016/17, Juventus (12) and Roma (ten) are the two sides with the most finals played across all competitions in Italy. The Bianconere have won ten of their 12, while Roma have won four of their ten.
  • Barbara Bonansea became Juventus Women’s all-time top appearance maker (242) against Parma last weekend. She has scored eight goals against Roma with the Bianconere, a tally bettered only by Cristiana Girelli’s 12.
  • Both Amalie Vangsgaard and Lindsey Thomas (16 goals each) are just one goal off Eniola Aluko’s total of 17 in fourth place in the list of Juventus Women’s all-time top foreign goalscorers. The top three are Andrea Staskova (36), Lineth Beerensteyn (22), and Lina Hurtig (19). Thomas scored against the Giallorosse in last year’s Cup final and in this season’s Serie A Women’s Cup final, while Vangsgaard netted against them in the latter and this season’s Super Cup final.
  • Mathilde Harviken is one appearance off 50 for the Bianconere. The most recent of her two goals for the club came against Roma on 2 March, 2025.
  • Since the quarter-finals of this year’s Italian Cup, only two defenders – Ternana’s Camilla Labate (11) and Fiorentina’s Emilie Wolvik (eight) – have had a hand in more shots than Estela Carbonell’s seven (five shots of her own and two chances created). In this season’s Serie A, Carbonell was the youngest defender with at least two goals scored and two assists provided.

OPPOSITION FOCUS

  • Roma have scored 40 goals against Juventus, considering all competitions, which is at least ten more than any other side has managed against the Bianconere (Fiorentina and Milan have 30 apiece).
  • The Giallorosse are currently on a 15-match scoring streak, last netting in more consecutive matches between May and November, 2024, when they chained together 19 games with at least one goal scored.
  • Manuela Giugliano and Evelyne Viens are the players with the most goals scored for Roma against Juventus across all competitions (five each). Giugliano could become the first player to score against the Bianconere in all competitions in which she has faced them, after doing so in Serie A, the Italian Super Cup, and the Serie A Women’s Cup.
  • Viens currently sits on 41 goals for Roma (level with Annamaria Serturini) and with one goal would move alone into third place in the Giallorosse’s all-time scoring charts, behind just Valentina Giacinti (51) and Giugliano (73).
  • Emilie Haavi has scored seven Italian Cup goals for Roma. Only Andressa Alves (12), Giugliano, and Viens (eight apiece) have managed more in the Giallorosse’s history. Haavi has 35 goals in all for the club, behind just Viens (41) and Andressa (40) as their third-highest all-time foreign goalscorer.
