CSK and DC are placed seventh and eighth on the points table with eight points from nine matches each. Another loss could push them into a must-win situation.
Even though both teams are coming into this match after a win, weather could play a role in the game.
Delhi weather forecast for Tuesday
Parts of Delhi saw hail and thunderstorms as an unseasonal spell of rain and cloud cover brought some relief from the heat. The city remains under an orange alert on Tuesday.
The alert covers New Delhi, Central Delhi, West Delhi, North West Delhi, Outer North Delhi, North East Delhi, Shahdara and East Delhi, along with parts of South and South West Delhi. Rain, hail and thunderstorms are expected.
Temperatures have dropped across several areas due to the changing weather.
Dark clouds have been seen over the city since Tuesday afternoon. With rain over the past few nights, there could be interruptions during the DC vs CSK match.
The India Meteorological Department has also forecast possible hailstorms in some parts of the city. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 33 degrees Celsius, with rain and thunderstorms likely later in the day.
What happens if DC vs CSK is washed out?
If rain leads to a washout, both teams will be affected in the playoff race.
With both teams currently on eight points from nine matches, a washout would give them one point each, taking them to nine points. Their maximum possible points would then be 17.
If they lose any more matches after that, they can reach a maximum of 15 points. With Punjab Kings already on 13 points and four other teams on 12 points each, 15 points may not be enough to qualify for the playoffs.
