In the Los Angeles Rams defensive line room, all eight players return intact for 2026. But that didn’t stop L.A. from drafting Tim Keenan in Round 7 and adding three undrafted free agents, Payton Zdroik, Jalen Logan-Redding, and Jackson Moi.
Last year, the Rams used a deep rotation along the defensive front that went six deep. Only Kobie Turner topped the 50 precent of snaps level. Poona Ford, Braden Fiske, and Tyler Davis all saw between 40 and 50 percent. 2025 rookie Ty Hamilton and veteran Larrell Murchison each had just above 125 snaps.
Can any of the Rams new defensive line additions find space in a crowded room? Let’s meet the undrafted free agents.
Payton Zdroik – Air Force 6’ 276 lb.
Played five season with the Falcons. After a redshirt, he became a stalwart on the defensive line, with 36 starts in 55 games played. He charted 116 tackles, 29 of those for loss, and 14 sacks.
Under-sized for an interior lineman, Zdroik has very good athleticism. RAS gives him a 9.26 score. At 31 1/8”, his arms are under NFL standards and he has 8 3/4” hands, Nice upper body strength, 31 reps on the bench. Strong speed over distance at 4.78 in the forty and initial quickness with a 1.68 10-yard split. 33” vertical and 9’7” broad show pretty good lower body strength and explosiveness. Better than NFL standards in agility/change of direction, 7.40 3cone, as well as flexibility, burst, and balance, 4.50 shuttle.
Squatty frame with natural low center of gravity. Under-sized and has short arms, Zdroik will have to prove he can win with his get-off and quickness. When you combine that initial quickness and low leverage with stellar upper body strength and pretty good hand fighting, he flashes the ability to be a gap penetrator. Against the run, he can easily be swallowed up, but works hard and has the strength to shed and gets after it in pursuit.
Put Zdroik has been on my board for three straight years, but he never finished in the Top 300. Just not sure that his quickness and hair-on-fire play style will be able to overcome his lack of size and length. Although bowling ball shaped, he looks fluid enough to get a look on special teams and he worked out for scouts as a fullback at his Pro Day.
Jalen Logan-Redding – Minnesota 6’3” 285 lb.
Spent six seasons with Minnesota. After COVID19 and redshirts seasons, Logan-Redding stepped right in to a starting role and held it four seasons. In all, he played 58 games with 48 starts. His stats were modest, 89 tackles, 10.5 for loss, four sacks, and eight passes broken up.
Logan-Redding’s athleticism doesn’t match his relatively small size, although he does have 33 1/4” arms and 9 3/8” hands. Did not test on the bench and only his agility and change of of direction, 7.62 3cone, meets NFL parameters. His speed over distance was 5.21 with a 1.77 10-yard split. Flexibility, balance , and burst, 4.71 in the shuttle. His leg strength and explosion numbers were 28” in the vertical and a 9’ broad.
Played up and down the the defensive line. Plays low with 100% effort. Good get off and handwork, can use his low leverage and long arms to hold gap position. When stationed out at defensive end, Logan-Redding set a strong edge. Relentless in pursuit, hustles down field and to the sidelines. Only adequate in pass rush, more of a block eater and set up guy to free others. Lacks power and bend to maneuver in traffic.
Can’t say his film offers anything special or potentially special. Tough as nails and a four-year starter in a good league should hint at a fairly high floor, but his tweener size and just adequate athleticism hold him back.
Jaxson Moi – Tennessee 6’2” 292 lb.
Originally signed with Stanford and spent two seasons there, playing in 24 games with eight starts. Saw time in every game, but no starts in his first year at Tennessee and went on to earn nine starts in 2025. Over four seasons, Moi made 64 tackles, 12 for loss, four sacks and broke up 10 passes.
Although less so, a third under-sized defensive interior prospect and like Logan-Redding, below NFL athletic testing standards. Has 32” arms and 9 3/4” hands. Moi ran a 5.19 forty with a 1.82 10-yard split, 4.77 in the shuttle, and 7.78 in the 3cone. He leapt 27.5 in the vertical and 9’ in the broad. He did not test on the bench.
Stocky frame with natural low leverage. More potential as a run stopper than pass rusher. Good get off and engages hands quickly. Gives maximum effort and pursues well, but lacks pop in his punch and the leg drive to collapse the pocket. Works hard to hold ground inside, follows the ball and can get off blockers to pursue. Struggles with double teams. His effort can get him cleanup sacks, but he doesn’t show many moves to create his own. Shows good timing and hand/eye coordination to get into passing lanes and jump to knock passes down.
Effort-based run stopper that won’t offer much pass rush. Doer of dirty work. Tennessee also used Moi as a blocker in jumbo blocking packages on offense.
Roster chances?
Hard to make a case for any one of the three. None really offer anything the Rams don’t already have. While all three fit the Rams recent mold of smaller defensive interior prospects, with good hand work and versatility, they all lack the lower body strength to lock down inside and only Zdroik displays real quickness and short area agility. As an example. Keir Thomas was a tweener size-wise and a UDFA back in 2022. His film was substantially more impressive than this years group, and he’s bounced between the active roster and practice squad.
In a crowded defensive line room, these prospects feel like camp bodies.
