Report – Inter Put Out-Of-Favor Midfielder Up for Sale

Serie A champions Inter have reportedly put out-of-favor midfielder Davide Frattesi up for sale ahead of the summer transfer window. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri will listen to offers for the former Sassuolo man, with several domestic rivals already vying for his signature.

Despite vowing to reignite Frattesi’s career upon arrival last summer, head coach Cristian Chivu has failed to live up to his promise this season. Instead, Frattesi has played a marginal role in the 45-year-old’s system, making just three Serie A starts.

Furthermore, the 26-year-old has accumulated just 1,133 minutes in all competitions, spanning across 33 appearances. Tired of playing second fiddle to the likes of Hakan Calhanoglu, Nicolo Barella, and Piotr Zielinski, the Italian star has reportedly decided to part ways with Inter at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Frattesi’s contract at Giuseppe Meazza runs out in the summer of 2028, which puts the Nerazzurri in a decent bargaining position. Therefore, Inter will reportedly entertain offers in the region of €25 million, and there’s no shortage of suitors.

Our take on Frattesi & Inter

Frattesi scored several pivotal goals as a substitute during Inter’s Scudetto-winning 2023/24 season. However, he has never managed to establish himself as a regular starter at the club, so a summer departure feels like a natural conclusion.

Although his playing time at Meazza has been relatively sparse, Frattesi has drawn a host of inquiries in Serie A and abroad. In addition to long-term admirers Roma, Juventus and Nottingham Forest also displayed their interest in January.
