New England PatriotsOTAs recently began and the team witnessed a serious injury scare to one of their most important players on Sunday night.
The incident occurred on the softball diamond, not the football field though.
The scary scene happened during the inaugural MayeDay Celebrity Softball Classic, hosted by Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and his wife, Ann Michael Maye.
At one point, comedian Matt Rife was caught in a rundown involving running back Rhamondre Stevenson.
As Rife attempted to dive into second base, he collided with Stevenson’s left leg, causing it to bend backward.
“Matt Rife almost put Rhamondre Stevenson on IR,” 7News Boston WHDH sports reporter Marlee Wierda posted on X, followed by two loudly crying face emojis.

The 28-year-old finished the 2025 season with 130 carries for 603 rushing yards and seven touchdowns while adding 32 receptions for 345 receiving yards and two scores through the air.
