Olympic silver medallist Matt Richardson stormed to two golds as Great Britain won nine medals at the Track World Cup in Hong Kong.

Richardson, who turned 27 on Friday, won the men’s sprint and then anchored the sprint team to victory alongside Joe Truman and Harry Ledingham-Horn.

His latest success comes two months after he won the European title in Turkey.

Emma Finucane added more gold in the women’s sprint, and then won silver in the team event with Rhianna Parris-Smith and Lauren Bell.

Finucane dominated the sprint event, securing a 2-0 win over Mina Sato in the final, and also won bronze in the women’s keirin.

Richardson took silver in Paris in 2024 while racing for Australia before switching to Team GB.

Olympic champion Harrie Lavreysen of the Netherlands was only fifth in Hong Kong as Richardson beat Kaiya Ota of Japan in the final.

Erin Boothman, making her international track debut, won silver in the women’s madison alongside Maddie Leech, who also picked up silver in the team pursuit.
