With a little over two weeks left before the second El Clasico of the 2025/26 season, FC Barcelona’s arch-rivals Real Madrid have been dealt a huge injury blow.
Indeed, as confirmed by the Spanish capital club earlier today, both Eder Militao and Arda Guler are sidelined with hamstring injuries.
The official statement issued by Real Madrid for either player did not specify a recovery period. However, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the season is pretty much over for both players.
This comes as a bitter blow to Real Madrid, who are already on the cusp of losing the La Liga title to the Blaugrana, who are currently nine points ahead in the table.
Both Militao and Guler are important players for Los Blancos, who have endured a subpar season that appears all set to end without any major trophies for a second consecutive year.
Real Madrid will also be without Rodrygo Goes for the game, who is out for the rest of the year with an ACL injury.
Thibaut Courtois, too, is currently sidelined with an injury, although he is expected to return in time for El Clasico.
Barcelona, for their part, have concerns of their own as Lamine Yamal’s season too may have come to a premature end after he suffered a hamstring injury last night against Celta Vigo.
