After weeks of links between Liverpool FC goalkeeper Alisson Becker and Juventus, a credible report from MARCA’s Matteo Moretto is now saying that Alisson and the Italian giants have agreed on personal terms. Liverpool FC. Just last month, Liverpool activated a 12-month extension to keep Alisson at the club until the summer of 2027.
Another report from Tutto Sport speculates that the fee needed to get Liverpool to part ways with Ali’s services would be €15m/£13m.
Alisson had previously spoken of his desire to finish up his Liverpool contract and return home to Internacional, so this isn’t exactly out of the blue, though slightly ahead of schedule. I would prefer some Alisson to no Alisson at all, although his body has obviously been breaking down in recent seasons, so he might fancy a move to a league that’s less intense. Serie A would fit the bill, but Juventus will still likely be playing Champions League football, so I wonder if that’s the right move for him. Liverpool have already prepared for this with Mamardashvili’s signing, but hopefully we can get one last year with the holy goalie.
