Rutgers Outdoor Track and Field will send a program record 28 Athletes to the NCAA East first round, which is being hosted in Lexington, Kentucky, on Wednesday, May 27th- Saturday, May 30th. Qualifiers from the East First Round will compete in the NCAA Outdoor Championships, held June 10-13 in Eugene, Oregon. The event will be broadcast live on ESPN+, with the NCAA providing live updates here.
Rutgers track and field had a decent performance at the Big Ten Outdoor Championships, having one gold medal winner. Celine-Jada Brown earned gold in the women’s long jump, while earning all Big Ten First Team honors in the process, while Kevin O’Sullivan got third in the men’s pole vault. Sincere Robinson earned a third-place finish in the men’s long jump.
Rutgers’ sending 28 Athletes to this year’s first round competition shatters their previous best of 22, which they sent in 2024.
In a recent article, Arnav Sarkar of OnTheBanks pointed out how non-revenue sports have lit the way for Rutgers athletics this year. This trend continues to be the case as Outdoor Track and Field is primed to finish with one of its most successful seasons in program history.
Below is a list of when all the Rutgers athletes will be competing at this week’s qualifiers, according to ScarletKnights.com.
