Ryan Preece addresses questionable wreck with Ty Gibbs at Texas

Ryan Preece and Ty Gibbs’ wreck during the NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway was one of many storylines. Preece, who was very upset with Gibbs on the radio, caused the No. 54 car to crash on Sunday afternoon. It was a day ender for Gibbs, who was not happy with the driver of the No. 60 car.

Following the race, Preece spoke to Fronstretch and addressed the wreck with Gibbs. Based on Preece’s comments, there is some real frustration with the Joe Gibbs Racing driver.

“I’ll be honest with you…I hate that [Ty Gibbs] wrecked, but decisions you make on the race track, there are repercussions,” Preece told Frontstretch. “And I try to race everybody with an amount of respect that I’d like in return. And when you don’t do that, I’m not gonna cut you a break. And that’s what happened.”

Preece went on to finish in 14th place while Gibbs ended his race in 36th place. It will be fascinating to see how Gibbs and Preece race going into the new few weeks. If Preece’s comments are any indication, this doesn’t feel like a situation that is going away anytime soon.
