San Antonia Spurs beat Oklahoma City in decider to reach NBA Finals

The San Antonio Spurs booked their place in the NBA finals, ousting defending champions Oklahoma City Thunder 111-103 in game seven to take the Western Conference title.

Having clinched the series, the Spurs host the New York Knicks in game one of the finals on Wednesday.

Victor Wembanyama put up 22 points and seven rebounds for San Antonio, while Julian Champagnie hit six three-pointers in a 20-point display.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander added 35 points and nine assists for the Thunder, while Cason Wallace put up 17.

Wembanyama, named the series MVP, said making the finals in his first post-season campaign meant “everything”.

“We want four more,” he said. “We’re not done.”
