If there’s one agent around Major League Baseball who knows how to talk for his guys, it’s none other than Scott Boras. Boras, the best agent in the world, will have a bit of a different winter in 2026 than he was expecting.
Left-hander Tarik Skubal recently underwent a procedure, the third of his baseball career. That’s a somewhat concerning sign, though this injury doesn’t seem to be too big of an issue.
In fact, Boras came out and stated that his marquee free agent isn’t going to be out as long as some think. He believes it’s going to be a shorter rehab process than what was initially expected, and he’ll come back throwing the baseball at the level that he’s expected to, which is the best in Major League Baseball.
“We think that’s going to be a much shorter period (of rehabilitation),” Boras said of Skubal, H/T Heavy. “And he’ll be able to return to performance at just a much, much earlier stage.”
Boras obviously isn’t going to come out and say that his client isn’t going to be healthy, so it’s tough to take any of this with much more than a grain of salt. Baseball fans really need Skubal to be at the best of his game, as he’s extremely fun to watch. Hopefully, he’ll be good to go, and he’ll reset the market on the starting pitching front, just as most expected.
