Seahawks could receive up to five 2027 compensatory draft picks

The Seattle Seahawkslost assistant general manager Nolan Teasley over the weekend. The Minnesota Vikings are hiring Teasley as their new general manager. The Seahawks will receive a pair of third-round compensatory selections in the 2027 and 2028 NFL drafts as a result.

It has led to a discussion about the Seahawks’ potential comp picks in the 2027 NFL draft. As of now, it’s possible that John Schneider will be rewarded with five compensatory selections. Imagine the damage Schneider can do with that much draft capital.

As Nick Korte outlined above, the Seahawks will almost certainly get a fourth-round comp pick for losing Boye Mafe to the Cincinnati Bengals in free agency. A trio of fifth-round comp selections are expected for losing Coby Bryant, Riq Woolen, and Kenneth Walker III to free agency as well.

The Seahawks weren’t very active in free agency. Their biggest-money deals saw them re-sign in-house talents Rashid Shaheed and Josh Jobe. Re-signing your own players does not affect the NFL’s comp pick formula.

Schneider believes in building the Seahawks’ roster via the NFL draft. All these 2027 comp picks should ensure the roster stays healthy and competitive. The Seahawks should continue competing for Super Bowl titles.
