Several members of the Denver Broncos were seen at sports venues in downtown Colorado to take in some great games on Tuesday evening.
First up, Greg and Carrie Penner were spotted at their first Colorado Rockies game since purchasing a 40 percent stake in the team earlier this month. The Penners were treated to only the fourth 1-0 game in Coors Field history; unfortunately, it was in favor of the San Diego Padres. Hopefully, with their involvement, the Rockies’ offense can be as potent as the Broncos‘ in the future.
Later in the evening, Broncos coach Sean Payton and right tackle Mike McGlinchey were seen taking in the Colorado Avalanche in Game 2 of their first-round NHL playoffs series against the Los Angeles Kings. Payton seemed to see a little more action than McGlinchey, though.
In the second period of the game, after a huge penalty shot stop by Avs goalie Scott Wedgewood, Avalanche fans were so riled up they broke a panel of glass just feet away from where Payton was seated. The game was slightly delayed as crews cleaned up the broken glass. Luckily enough for Payton and McGlinchey, fans at Ball Arena were treated to extra hockey, as the game went into overtime. Eventually, the Avalanche won in overtime, 2-1, to take a 2-0 series lead over the Los Angeles Kings.

After a great night of sports in Colorado, at least for the Penners and Payton, their attention fully turns to the NFL draft, which begins Thursday night in Pittsburgh.
