See it: Giants’ Jaxson Dart introduces President Trump before New York rally

New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart introduced President Donald Trump at a campaign rally for Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) on Friday at Rockland Community College in Suffern.

“What’s up? Big Blue Nation, it’s a pleasure to be here. Go, Big Blue!” Dart told the crowd. “What an honor. What a privilege it is to be here. Without further ado, I’m grateful, I’m honored, and I’m pleasured to introduce the 45th and 47th President of the United States of America, President Donald J. Trump.”

Trump praised the young quarterback in return.

“I want to thank Jaxson Dart. This is going to be a future Hall of Famer in my book. Thank you. A lot of talent,” he said.

The appearance by Dart, the Giants’ promising signal-caller out of Ole Miss, at the event supporting the vulnerable congressman in a competitive Hudson Valley district quickly went viral. It drew mixed reactions from New York sports fans, with some applauding the crossover while others expressed surprise at the rookie’s political involvement in a blue-leaning state.
