Should Red Wings trade Lucas Raymond? Let us know: OctoPulse podcast

Would you trade Detroit Red Wings star Lucas Raymond, who finished second in team scoring this year with 25 goals and a team-leading 51 assists for 76 points?

Let us know in the comment section below and we’ll publish responses and include them on a future podcast.

Raymond’s 10-team, no-trade clause doesn’t kick in until the start of the 2028-2029 season, according to puckpedia.com.

Detroit left wing Lucas Raymond reacts after the Red Wings lost to the New Jersey Devils 5-3, ending their playoff bid, at Little Caesars Arena, in Detroit, April 11, 2026.

So, theoretically, the team’s 24-year-old, high-scoring winger could be dealt to any of the other 31 teams in the NHL.

What would you want back? What’s realistic? Or would you just say, no?

In Bob Wojnowski’s column on the Red Wings’ season-ending news conference on Thursday, he floated the idea Raymond could be on the trade market.

“It would take a major trade to significantly alter the teams’ makeup,” Wojo wrote in the column. “And that would mean dealing Dylan Larkin (doubtful), Alex DeBrincat (doubtful), Lucas Raymond (possible), or a promising youngster such as Marco Kasper (possible).”

In this week’s edition of The Detroit News/Red Wings podcast, beat reporter Ted Kulfan and host Mark Falkner discuss the possibility of a specific Raymond trade.

Tune in at the 5:30 mark of the podcast and see if you would make the deal for a veteran top-notch center to take some of the pressure off Larkin up the middle and a young top-4 defenseman to help on the blueline.
