The NBA Playoffs are usually where the sixth man plays a bigger role. No, it’s not the first person who comes off the bench but rather the crowd. Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs may be struggling a bit against the Oklahoma City Thunder but they sure have the support of their fans. Nothing proves this more as the crowd at Frost Bank Center started shouting ‘flopper’ at Shai Gilgeous-Alexander while he was on the free throw line.
Spurs fans erupt with ‘flopper’ chants against Thunder, Gilgeous-Alexander
Typically, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is used to hearing ‘MVP’ screams whenever he is on the free throw line. Unfortunately, he is facing one of the most game-altering crowds because the Thunder are playing in the Spurs home court. The fans made their thoughts on the two-time MVP known in Game 3 as they all chanted the ‘flopper’ when Gilgeous-Alexander took his free throws.

The Spurs fans had enough of seeing their team get trampled by the Thunder. See, they had just watched Victor Wembanyama and Co. undergo a rough second quarter where the opposing defense scored 32 points while they only got 20 points. The Spurs faithful are hoping to see things change and are taking action on it.
So far, Gilgeous-Alexander has only been on the free throw line thrice in this NBA Playoffs game. Notoriously, he takes a bulk of his shots from the charity stripe to get more points. In fact, the Thunder superstar has attempted 540 free throws throughout the 2025-26 season and that is 37 more than Luka Doncic who sits at second place.
