There was honestly no bigger story for the Pittsburgh Steelers last week than when the team surprisingly parted ways with one of its new coaches on the staff, and Mike McCarthy revealed that they’re already looking for a replacement.
On Tuesday, ESPN’s Brooke Pryor reported that McCarthy said the firing of Derius Swinton was II done “internally,” and that the hiring of a new assistant special teams coach is “ongoing.”

Swinton, who previously coached special teams for the then-St. Louis Rams, Kansas City Chiefs, Denver Broncos, San Francisco 49ers, Detroit Lions, Arizona Cardinals, Los Angeles Chargers, and Las Vegas Raiders, was fired by the Steelers over a “violation of club policy.” It was later revealed that the violation was due to “workplace misconduct.”
