The Washington Commanders appear to be in a good position heading into the 2026 NFL season. For one, star quarterback Jayden Daniels is healthy, which was the biggest problem last season.
Additionally, the team has made some solid moves this offseason that should improve the depth on both sides of the ball. Many also liked what the Commanders did during the draft, despite not having the most resources. However, there are a couple of positions, specifically wide receiver and cornerback, that could use some added reinforcements.
Fortunately, there might be a perfect solution to both of those needs. Veteran wide receiver Stefon Diggs and his brother, cornerback Trevon Diggs, are both free agents. The brothers are Maryland natives and, at a recent event, Stefon seemed totally open to the idea of joining his hometown team.
When asked how long it would be before he and Trevon would be wearing Commanders jerseys, the older Diggs had an interesting response.
“That’s what everybody is talking about right now,” said Stefon. “We gonna talk about it real soon though”.

Most of the time, players won’t be so open with their responses, so that was interesting to hear. Of course, it makes sense for the brothers to want to be back in the DMV, especially considering the Commanders have a lot of positive momentum.
Stefon, in particular, would be a massive get. The Commanders are currently slated to start Treylon Burks and rookie third-rounder Antonio Williams next to Terry McLaurin, which isn’t the most exciting proposition. Diggs is a multiple-time Pro Bowler who just helped lead the New England Patriots to the Super Bowl and has been among the best receivers in the league at his best.
Trevon, meanwhile, was once considered among the best at his position as well, but has had a down couple of seasons. Still, Trevon has the hometown factor as well as the fact that he’d get to play against his former team, the Dallas Cowboys, twice a year. Plus, the younger Diggs is only 27 and has experience playing for head coach Dan Quinn.
