Strasbourg need to make sales, president confirms

RC Strasbourg Alsace will have to make sales during the summer transfer window, as confirmed by club president Marc Keller in an interview with DNA Sports.

Sales are already planned. Emanuel Emegha will join partner club Chelsea, as confirmed all the way back in September. Valentin Barco, meanwhile, is also expected to make the move to Stamford Bridge. The Argentine has already confirmed his upcoming departure from Strasbourg in a post on social media.

However, there will be further sales, Keller has confirmed. “Regarding the DNCG (French football’s financial watchdog) and UEFA’s financial regulations, we will, of course, have to sell players,” he said. However, there are specific players that the Alsace club are looking to move on during the off-season.

“That is part of life for a club that is targeting Europe. We will be more receptive to [offers for] the players who have been here for two or more years, who, by the way, could have already left and for whom we have already rejected big offers,” Keller told DNA Sports.

That concerns the likes of Diego Moreira (a reported target for Borussia Dortmund), Sébastien Nanasi (linked with a move to Ajax), Guéla Doué, and Ismael Doukouré. There looks set to be a significant squad refresh at the Meinau this summer.
