The Tennessee Titans had the second pick in the fifth round of the 2026 NFL draft, and they used it to select guard Fernando Carmona out of Arkansas.
It was a surprise to many that the Titans waited until the 142nd overall pick to select an offensive lineman, but they did bring in another young, big guy to help protect rising quarterback Cam Ward. Carmona was initially a left tackle at Arkansas, but switched to guard during his senior season, giving the Titans both depth and flexibility with him on the roster.
Here’s how social media reacted to the Titans’ fifth-round selection, Fernando Carmona.
Sold, enough said! I’m ready for Fernando Carmona to make an impact for @Titans. #Titanuphttps://t.co/4sg408WC3v

Fernando Carmona addressed this incident from 2024 with us in his first media availability
Says it was a moment he had to grow from and was extremely embarrassed by. Not the player or person that he is. Says he’s had to own it and be better from it.

Fernando Carmona is a name that I have come across but did not get a chance to evaluate – I won’t instant react this pick for that reason.
Based on the little I have seen, he has a ton of experience and I believe was a captain. I do remember a lot of Mike Washingtons big runs… https://t.co/8N4KBqpdLP

Titans fans, Fernando Carmona probably had the BIGGEST jump in our program. Has played a ton of football at a lot of positions. Best position may be at Center!

Titans OG Fernando Carmona said he learned the NASTINESS he plays offensive line with when he came into college having played tight end in high school.
Had to adopt a mean-streak mentality to adjust.

Fernando Carmona tells us he had a great time with the Titans pre-draft, is excited to land here.
He played LG in college but is ready to have positional versatility considering the Titans need RG help. He’s been training both sides.

Sam Pittman was Fernando Carmona’s head coach at Arkansas.
As offensive line coach at Georgia, Pittman was a big backer of Isaiah Wilson when the #Titans drafted him 29th overall in 2020. Wilson played four snaps in one season and rates as an all-time bust.
