Rafael Nadal was in Madrid on Wednesday.
He was hitting tennis balls with Iga Swiatek and ATP World No. 1 Jannik Sinner. On any given day, this would be the top headline and story.
However, because the 14-time French Open champion brought his son Rafael Nadal Jr., sometimes called Junior or Baby Rafa, who is now three years old, the story is centered around the kid fans feel like they have known all of his life because he was courtside as a baby.

What fans said
Many commented on how much he has grown since he was last seen at Nadal‘s ceremony at last year’s French Open. He is still adorable but bigger and busier, typical of a toddler his age.
While his dad was giving him balls to hit with his backhand, people marveled at his form at such a young age.
More said that he has dad’s technique already.

Rafael Nadal Jr. is beloved by the players
Like father, like son, the players love Nadal Jr.
There are adorable videos with Iga Swiatek and Jannik Sinner. Swiatek would presumably know him pretty well because of her long friendship with Nadal dating back to speaking at graduation at the Rafa Nadal Academy years ago and her recent training block at the Academy under the watchful eye of Rafa. She high-fived the young Nadal.
Sinner was spotted smiling at Nadal Jr. running around the court.
Nadal Jr. is a delight, and we are happy to see his dad bring him to tennis-related events so fans can watch him grow.
It goes without saying that Nadal is missed on the ATP Tour, but through his Academy with its most famous student to date, Alexandra Eala, he stays connected to the sport.
