LSU baseball took a trip to Athens, Georgia, to take on the No. 1 team in the SEC, the Georgia Bulldogs. The Dawgs entered the game 18-6 in conference play. That’s 2.5 games better than Texas and Texas A&M. If LSU can pull out some wins in this series, it could help their case for postseason play. Right now, the Tigers are on the outside looking in.
If you love a game with offensive firepower, this was a game for you. LSU and Georgia combined to score 19 runs. Unfortunately, Georgia ended with 11, and LSU ended with eight. This game went back and forth and was tied heading to the bottom of the seventh inning. The Dawgs scored three in the bottom of the seventh to secure their win. Here are three takeaways from LSU baseball’s Friday night loss.
Too many walks
LSU pitchers tonight combined for seven walks and 11 strikeouts against Georgia. Seven walks, two wild pitches, and two hit batters will come back to haunt you against a good team. It came back to bite LSU in game one against the No. 5 team in the country.

Monster Milam started the scoring for LSU, and he ended the game 1-for-3 with two RBI and two walks. He has strung together a lot of good games at the plate and in the field recently.

A lot of questions were raised when Omar Serna Jr. was not in the lineup against Tulane this week. It was good to see him back in the lineup on Friday, and he came through with a solo shot in the top of the third inning to give the Tigers a 3-2 lead.
