The Western Conference Finals heads south with the series tied at 1-1.
Game 3 between the Oklahoma City Thunder and San Antonio Spurs on Friday night will be a battle of heavyweights. Both teams have relied heavily on their superstars through the opening games.
Victor Wembanyama delivered a historic blow in Game 1, scoring 41 points and 24 rebounds. The Spurs big man has 62 points and 41 rebounds through the first two games, which hasn’t been done since Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1974. On the other side, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander rebounded from his initial funk to start the series. He had 30 points in Oklahoma City’s Game 2 win.
One of the storylines to watch will be injuries and depth. Spurs guard De’Aaron Fox is still dealing with an ankle sprain, while rookie Dylan Harper suffered an adductor strain in Game 2. The Thunder will be without Jalen Williams who aggravated his hamstring. Ajay Mitchell will likely be a game-time decision as well.
