Tronstad, Hedges and Redmond to leave Blackburn

Blackburn Rovers have announced the departures of Sondre Tronstad, Ryan Hedges and Nathan Redmond.

Tronstad played 113 games in his three seasons with Rovers, but the Norway midfielder, 30, has not since suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury in February.

Winger Hedges, 30, joined Blackburn from Aberdeen in January 2022 and made 145 appearances, but he suffered a broken leg in January and only returned to make two substitute appearances in April.

Fellow winger Redmond only arrived at the club on a short-term contract in March and the 32-year-old made just one start and one substitute appearance.

Defender Eiran Cashin and midfielder Taylor Gardner-Hickman have both returned to their parent clubs at the end of their loan spells.

But Rovers have activated a one-year option with Scotland Under-21 midfielder Kristi Montgomery to keep him at Ewood Park until the summer of 2027, and they have offered a new contract to young winger Nathan Dlamini.
