MURFREEBORO — The TSSAA postponed the remainder of the TSSAA softball state tournament games for May 20.
This is the second straight year, games have been pushed back at least a day because of weather. Last year’s opening day was washed out.
State tournament games in baseball, softball and boys soccer were able to finish on May 19 but hit a snag the following day as rain and Thunderstorms caused a nearly three-hour delay in the early afternoon of May 20. More rain pushed through the area late in the evening as a handful of Division I baseball games played late into the night.
The state softball tournament schedule has been revamped with one Division II-A state championship game scheduled for May 21 and DII-AA title games on Friday. Division I state championship games in the four classifications are scheduled to be played on Saturday.
The Division II-A final is schedule for 4 p.m. (CT) on May 21 at MTSU. However, the if-necessary game would be played the following day at 1:30 p.m. (CT).
The DII-AA softball championship game is scheduled for 10 a.m. on May 22 with the if-necessary game at 4 p.m. that day, which would follow the DII-A if-necessary game.
Division II baseball championships are still scheduled for May 21 start times at MTSU. Lakeway Christian faces St. George’s in DII-A at noon while Brentwood Academy and CPA will face off in DII-AA at 2:30 p.m.
