Ty Gibbs’ strong run in the NASCAR Cup Series race at Texas Motor Speedway went south very quickly. Ryan Preece, who was upset with Gibbs, ended up wrecking the No. 54 car after contact on Sunday afternoon. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver went on to finish in 36th place; however, don’t expect him to let this situation go forward without any issues.
Gibbs said he will “get him another time” on the radio when referring to Preece following the wreck. It is understandable frustration after Preece ranted about Gibbs on the radio and proceeded to end his day. Whether it was on purpose or not, the driver of the No. 54 car feels like Preece has one coming his way.
It was one of several incidents at Texas, including Kyle Busch and John Hunter Nemechek with two laps remaining. Both situations don’t feel like a one-weekend event. Gibbs feels like Preece might deserve retaliation for his actions at Texas, and this will be one to monitor moving forward.
