Fatima Kline continues to march her way through the UFC strawweight division, but Amanda Ribas aims to halt the moment.
The two ranked contenders will collide at a UFC Fight Night event July 18, two people with knowledge of the matchup recently informed MMA Junkie. They asked to remain anonymous as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
While no location is official, Oklahoma City is currently frontrunner (location first reported by Ag. Fight). Should that be finalized, it’ll mark the first UFC event in Oklahoma since 2017.
Kline (9-1 MMA, 3-1 UFC) is one of the most highly-touted rising fighters in the division. Following a short-notice promotional debut loss to Jasmine Jasudavicius up a weight class, Kline finished Victoria Dudakova and Melissa Martinez in back-to-back fights. She picked up her biggest win to date in November when she defeated Angela Hill by unanimous decision.
A fan-favorite, Brazil’s Ribas (12-7 MMA, 7-6 UFC) aims to snap a three-fight skid in what will be her first fight in 11 months. Despite the recent string of defeats, all have come against top-notch competition in Maycee Barber, Mackenzie Dern, and Tabatha Ricci.
The UFC Fight Night lineup for July 18 includes:
- Fatima Kline vs. Amanda Ribas
- Dione Barbosa vs. Veronica Hardy
