Vote for the Boys Athlete of the Week for May 4-10

The winner of last week’s Boys Athlete of the Week poll was Fairhaven lacrosse player Gavin Herman. He had 43% of the vote to receive the honor.  

In two games, Herman had a combined 4 goals and 1 assist. 

Previous winners were Old Colony’s Rowan Caulkins, New Bedford’s Jonah Wahnon and Old Rochester’s Malik Washburn and Chase DeMello. 

Each week during the regular season, we will highlight the top performances. 

Here’s your chance to vote for the top high school boys athlete performance from the past week.

TRACK& FIELD

Ty-Rell Pires, Wareham

Pires took first in the shot put (37-3) and javelin (124-1) against Cape Cod Tech.

VOLLEYBALL

Chace Garcia, GNB Voc-Tech

Garcia had a combined 48 assists and 15 digs in a pair of matches. 

Evan Monteiro, GNB Voc-Tech

In two matches, Monteiro had a combined 24 kills and 7 digs. 

Jiahlex Stringer, GNB Voc-Tech

In a win over Boston United, Stringer had a career-high 16 kills and 4 blocks. He also had 7 kills against Taunton. 

Gabdiel Arroyo, New Bedford

Arroyo had a career-high 14 kills in a win over Durfee. 

Luis Cedillo, New Bedford

In three matches, Cedillo had a combined 26 kills. 

Jesiah Rodriguez, New Bedford

In three matches, Rodriguez had a combined 71 assists, including a career-high 37 against Durfee. 

LACROSSE

Andrew Lally, Bishop Stang

Against Bridgewater-Raynham, Lally scored his 200th career goal, finishing the game with 2 goals and 1 assist. He also had 6 goals and 2 assists in an overtime loss to Plymouth North. 

Will Sanders, Bishop Stang

Sanders had a combined 40 saves in a pair of games. 

Ryder Chase, Fairhaven

Against Apponequet, Chase had 1 goal and 4 assists.

Gavin Herman, Fairhaven

Herman scored a team-high 4 goals in a win over Apponequet.

Rowan Caulkins, Old Colony

Caulkins had a combined 4 goals and 4 assists in a pair of games.

Jack LeBlanc, Old Colony

LeBlanc had 2 goals and 2 assists in an overtime loss to Blue Hills. 

Tucker Cook, Old Rochester

Cook had a team-high 4 goals in a win over Dighton-Rehoboth. 

TENNIS

Rowan Jensen, Apponequet

Jensen won his first singles match against New Bedford. 

Desmond Waite, Dartmouth

Waite won his second singles matches against Westport and Bridgewater-Raynham. 

Noah Petruski, Fairhaven

Petruski won his second singles matches against West Bridgewater and Case. 

Andrew Hebert, Old Rochester

Hebert won his second singles matches against Apponequet and Somerset Berkley. 

Subhav Parajuli, Old Rochester

Parajuli won his first singles matches against Apponequet and Somerset Berkley.

Tomas doCanto, Wareham

doCanto won his third singles match against Carver. 

Boon Oullette, Wareham

Oullette won his second singles match against Carver.
