Giants fans were dealt a fright on Tuesday night when video emerged on social media appearing to show star wide receiver Malik Nabers speaking with police after being pulled over in New Jersey.
Some believed the images added more drama to what has been a hectic few weeks for Big Blue. Between Jaxson Dart’s recent dalliance with Donald Trump and Odell Beckham Jr.’s signing, the Giants have taken hold of newspaper headlines in recent days.
Some suggested that Nabers’ potential run-in with police could have added to the fireworks. In reality, Nabers was the victim of a case of mistaken identity.

Was Malik Nabers arrested?
Video emerged on social media Tuesday night appearing to show Nabers speaking with police after being stopped in Paramus, New Jersey.

However, Nabers was not arrested. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that the Giants wideout was stopped by police after a report of road rage by someone driving a similar vehicle to his.
ESPN’s Jordan Raanan confirmed Garafolo’s report, adding that the individual accused of road rage was reported to have brandished a gun.
Paramus police reportedly searched Nabers’ car and spoke to the New York pass-catcher. After a brief interaction, Nabers was sent on his way.

Why was Malik Nabers pulled over by police?
Nabers was stopped and questioned by police after a person driving a similar vehicle to Nabers’ Tesla was reported to have brandished a gun.
Nabers’ vehicle was subsequently searched. Following the interaction, Nabers was allowed to return home.
