Wardrobe is a huge part of Kentucky Derby culture — from the attendees to the jockeys.
While they’re not as extravagant as a feather-heavy fascinator or multi-colored suit, each jockey silk is a custom design that represents the owner of the horse the jockey will ride. Last year, Junior Alvarado sported a solid blue silk as he rode Sovereignty to victory. Blue is the primary color for Godolphin, LLC, the company that owns Sovereignty.
