As the Arizona men’s basketball coaching staff goes about finalizing the 2026-27 roster, Tommy Lloyd and Co. are simultaneously prioritizing recruiting targets for the 2027 class and beyond.

Earlier this week Arizona extended an offer to 2027 big man Kamsi Awaka, the younger brother of former Arizona forward TobeAwaka. Kamsi Awaka is 6-foot-8 and 220 lbs. and is listed as a center. 247Sports Composite ranks Kamsi Awaka as the No. 71 prospect and the No. 8 center in the class.

He plays for Blair Academy in Blairstown, New Jersey.

Kamsi Awaka already has offers from Maryland and Georiga Tech. After his play at the Adidas 3SSB Circuit this past weekend, he could soon see a slew of high major offers.

“While Tobe Awaka exits college basketball, younger brother Kamsi Awakais rising up the ranks,” 247Sports’ Travis Branham wrote. “The 2027 big man is similar to his older brother in many ways boasting a big, strong and physical frame while making for a big interior presence.”

“He’s got strong hands, good touch and a little skill down on the block to score in the post. He owned the glass and the paint against Upward Stars on Friday on his way to 18 points, seven rebounds and three blocks in front of Dan Hurley, Bryan Hodgson, Arizona, Seton Hall and many others.”

Given Tobe Awaka’s success at Arizona, the Wildcats should have an easy time pitching Kamsi Awaka on coming to Tucson.

Adan Diggs reclassifying to 2027

Adan Diggs, a five-star combo guard from Gilbert, Ariz., announced this week he is reclassifying to the 2027 class. Diggs, who plays at Millennium High School, is the No. 2 player in the country, according to 247Sports Composite.

Arizona offered Diggs in June 2025. He has picked up offers from North Carolina and Kentucky since reclassifying.

If Diggs were to choose Arizona, would be the third top-10 combo guard to join the Wildcats in as many years, adding to Brayden Burries and Caleb Holt.

“On the recruiting front, home-state Arizona has been thought to hold a slight edge in the early stages,” 247Sports’ Eric Bossi wrote this week. “However, Tommy Lloyd and the Wildcats are going to face stiff competition.”

Diggs has yet to schedule any official visits.
