The Denver Broncos added two tight ends to their roster during the 2026 NFL draft.
First, the Broncos selected NC State’s Justin Joly in the fifth round. Later, Denver used the penultimate pick in the draft to select Utah’s Dallen Bentley. Following those two additions, the Broncos will have a crowded tight end room going into the summer.
Evan Engram remains the top receiving tight end in Denver, and after good friend Davis Webb was promoted to offensive coordinator, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Engram more involved in 2026.
Up next is Adam Trautman, whom the Broncos rewarded with a three-year contract extension last month. Joly probably figures to slot in as TE3 behind Engram and Trautman, while Bentley might be fighting for a roster spot this summer.
Broncos tight end depth chart (7)
- TE1: Evan Engram
- TE2: Adam Trautman
- TE3: Justin Joly
- TE4: Nate Adkins
- Depth: Dallen Bentley, Lucas Krull, Caleb Lohner
(Note that this is a projected depth chart, not an official depth chart from the team. The Broncos aren’t required to release an official depth chart until preseason begins this summer.)
Adkins is well-regarded in Denver, so he probably has a good chance to make the active roster again in 2026. Last year, the Broncos carried four tight ends on their initial 53-man roster. If that’s the plan again this season, Adkins, Bentley, Krull and Lohner are set to have a fierce battle for one roster spot this summer.
