The Indianapolis Colts have reportedly released cornerback Kenny Moore.
Prior to the NFL draft, Moore had requested a trade. However, leading up to the draft and during, no such deal came to fruition, resulting in the Colts releasing him.
Why did the Colts release Kenny Moore?
In a perfect world, the Colts would have found a trade partner and got something in return. But the decision to release Moore now so that he can catch on with another team prior to training camp is likely rooted in GM Chris Ballard wanting to do right by the long-time Colt.
“I had a talk with Kenny,” Ballard said before the NFL draft, “think very highly of Kenny, not only me personally, but organizationally, and I know the city feels the same way. Look, at the end of the day, talking to him, he just felt like it was time for a change. Nothing much more than that and because of our respect level for Kenny, we said okay.”
