A big bantamweight bout has bolstered the lineup for the UFC’s annual International Fight Week.
Former UFC title challenger Cory Sandhagen and rising contender Mario Bautista have been booked to fight at UFC 329 set for July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. MMA Junkie confirmed the news with two sources following a report Tuesday by Magic M on X.
This is a rematch seven years in the making. Sandhagen and Bautista first fought in 2019, with Sandhagen winning by armbar submission in the first round. It was Sandhagen’s third UFC fight and Bautista’s promotional debut.
Sandhagen will be looking to get back in the win column as he’s coming off a unanimous decision loss to then-champion Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 320 in October. Prior to the defeat, Sandhagen was on a 4-1 run, with the only loss coming against Umar Nurmagomedov.
Bautista managed to get back to his winning ways in his last bout back in February. He defeated Vinicius Oliveira by second-round submission. Bautista had lost a decision to Nurmagomedov prior to the Oliveira win – a loss that snapped an eight-fight winning streak for the MMA Lab product.
