Although he spent three years at the club, he made just one appearance for the 2010 Treble winners.

He had loan spells with Sampdoria in the Serie B, and this season has played 22 league games for already-relegated Pisa.

Ebenezer Akinsanmiro set to join Pisa from Inter Milan

As per <a href=”https://foot-africa.com/en/news/transfers-inter-milan-ready-to-bring-back-ebenezer-akinsanmiro-1190489/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Foot-Africa, Pisa had a clause that gave them the option to sign the 21-year-old at the end of the season.

Given they’re going down to Serie B next season, Pisa have decided to take Akinsanmiro with them, deciding to activate the €7 million purchase option to secure the Nigerian midfielder permanently.

However, the midfielder might still have a future at the Giuseppe Meazza, as Inter Milan enforced an €8 million buy-back clause in the deal taking him to Pisa.

The buy-back clause showcases the Nerazzuri’s belief in the talented youngster, and while he’s unable to break into the first team at the San Siro at the moment, they believe there’s room for a return in the future.

Akinsanmiro was a part of Eric Chelle’s AFCON 2025 squad, although he didn’t play a single minute at the tournament.

He made his debut for the Super Eagles just before that, playing 45 minutes in a friendly against Egypt.

Of Akinsanmiro’s 21 league games this season, 13 of those were played as a starter, but Pisa’s belief in the youngster is evident, hence the decision to secure his services permanently.
